Accenture Digital, Intel, AEInnova and Cisco are the winning companies
The IoT Awards recognise the most innovative industrial internet projects of the year
Accenture Digital, Intel and AEInnova were this year’s winners of the IoT Awards organised by the IoT Solutions World Congress (IoTSWC), which recognise the most outstanding projects developed in the sphere of the worldwide industrial internet in the past year. Cisco also won the award for best testbed at this third edition of the event, which concludes tomorrow at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via exhibition centre.
In the Business Transformation category, the winner was Accenture Digital for its Connected Asset Management solution developed using Microsoft Azure IoT, which allowed the Biesse Group to access real-time data from the field agents installed on machines in its clients’ factories. Through in-depth analytics and predictive maintenance based on legacy knowledge, Biesse will be able to reduce labour costs and improve customer service, expanding their after-market business with new revenue streams.
In the Best Solution for Industry category, the environmental monitoring system built by Intel in collaboration with Bosch for smart cities, industries, commercial/enterprise and residential application was the winner. It combines Intel IoT Gateway technology with high accuracy gas sensors (temperature, RH, noise, light and sound) in a rugged and temperature-proof enclosure designed for outdoor use.
In the Best Solution for Innovative Technology category, the winner was the AEInnova platform for wireless, batteryless self-powered, maintenance-free compressor monitoring. This compressor uses a steam pipe as a power source, whose heat is converted into electricity.
The IoT Awards also distinguished the best of the 11 testbeds exhibited at the Internet of Things Solutions World Congress. Cisco was the winning company for its standard supporting the control and synchronisation of machinery and processes in industry, the development of which involved 17 companies.
The other finalists at this year’s edition of the IoT awards were Abhiraj Gupta, Altierre Corporation, Geotab Inc, Mocana, Parquery, Vodafone and WiPro.
The IoT Solutions Awards Gala was held at the MNAC at an event that brought together the leading representatives of business and technology in the sphere of the international industrial internet.
