The industry confirms its commitment to the exhibition and foresees a positive scenario for next edition
The industry relies on Alimentaria & Hostelco as a platform for reactivation and business
Food and Hospitality industry welcomes next face-to-face edition of Alimentaria & Hostelco, one of the largest international platforms for the food industry, gastronomy and hospitality equipment, which will be held from April 4 to 7, 2022 at Fira de Barcelona, Gran Via venue. Within nine months to go, 93% of Alimentaria exhibitors and 87% of Hostelco who contracted space for 2020 have already confirmed their participation at the forthcoming edition that aims to contribute to the reactivation of this industry.
It is thus confirmed that food, retail, hospitality, foodservice, hospitality equipment and the different subsectors that make up the Alimentaria & Hostelco exhibition offer are showing signs of recovery and are betting on the next call for both trade shows. This high percentage of bookings predicts a great edition and confirms the forecasts for the reactivation of the food, beverage and hospitality industry, and its value chain. The remaining spaces will be allocated directly from September onwards.
All the Spanish regions have already confirmed their attendance in Alimentaria, which already has participation rates higher than 85% of the planned surface. The dynamism of Intercarn stands out, with the booking of more than 90% of its space, that positions the meat sector as the largest area of Alimentaria and confirms the commitment of the Spanish meat industry to the show as its main business and internationalization platform.
Alimentaria & Hostelco are preparing new content for their next edition aimed at enhancing their business character and contributing to the reactivation of their respective sectors, some of them particularly affected by the pandemic, such as the hospitality industry.
According to J. Antonio Valls, Director of the exhibition “Alimentaria & Hostelco will play a decisive role in the reactivation of the industry due to the impact it generates in its value chain and because it is the most appropriate international platform to reconnect businesses and promote networking”.
For this reason, Alimentaria & Hostelco will organize more than 12,500 business meetings between the exhibiting companies in the show and the 1,400 key buyers, importers and distributors from Europe, Asia, Latin America and the US invited by the organizers.
Key sectors for the global industry
Alimentaria will once again sectorize its offer into production and consumption verticals shows such as Intercarn (meat industry), Interlact (milk and dairy products), Expoconser (canned food), Snacks, Biscuits & Confectionary (sweet industry), Mediterranean Foods (food from the Mediterranean Diet, fresh products, olive oils and vegetable oils), Restaurama (Food Service and Hospitality), and the new Alimentaria Trends space, which will include vogue productive subsectors such as delicatessen foods (Fine Foods), those of organic production (Organic Foods ), allergen-free foods (Free From), Halal foods (Halal Foods) and functional foods (Functional Foods). Finally, Grocery Foods will bring together companies of mass consumer products.
Additionally, International Pavilions will coordinate the entire international offer and Lands of Spain will coordinate the domestic production for the different regional groups of Spain.
Regarding Hostelco, the leading exhibition in Spain and a European benchmark in its specialty, will present the entire value chain of the equipment and machinery industry for restaurants, hotels and communities with the aim of actively contributing to the recovery of the sector.
The show, organized by Fira de Barcelona in collaboration with the Spanish Federation of Associations of Manufacturers of Machinery for Hospitality, Communities and Related Industries (FELAC), will show the latest developments in the sector ratifying its commitment to new technologies, digitization, sustainability and personalized experiences. It will also promote meetings and debates between experts will be held to detect the trends that drive the market and accelerate its reactivation.
Innovation, gastronomy and sustainability
Innovation, gastronomy and management linked to sustainability and social responsibility will once again define Alimentaria & Hostelco’s program of activities, which will convey its classic content with experiences and knowledge that emerged in the business environment after the pandemic.
The space for the latest trends and innovations The Alimentaria Hub will be dedicated to innovation, knowledge and entrepreneurship, based on congresses, lectures, conferences, fast talks and exhibitions. The strategic core themes of this area will be Innovation + Brands, Nutrition, Health and Well-being, Internationalisation and Globalisation, Distribution and Retail, Marketing and Communication and Corporate Social Responsibility.
The partnership between Alimentaria & Hostelco will be especially reflected in The Experience Live Gastronomy event, the area dedicated to live gastronomy. The programme of activities will highlight trendy concepts such as sustainable cooking, the territory, the collaboration between producer and chef, the recovery and dignification of traditions such as the cooking with offal, food of the future, halal culinary proposals and the most innovative solutions for collective catering among other trends and topics of interest. More than 30 famous chefs will participate in The Experience Live Gastronomy to showcase their most ingenious creations, balancing tradition and sustainability.
