90 companies and 120 speakers gather in Barcelona to transform economy through IoT solutions
The first Internet of Things Solutions World Congress closes with strong industry engagement
The Internet of Things Solutions World Congress (IOTSWC) closed its doors today on a high note after three days of strong industry engagement and top level conferences. Organized by Fira de Barcelona the IOTSWC gathered 88 companies and 120 speakers and became an international reference event in the industrial internet stage after its first edition.
The show’s director, Roger Bou said “We are thrilled to have organized such a unique event where all the key players in the industrial internet scenario got together to share knowledge, experiences and solutions and to ensure the widespread adoption of a disruptive set of technologies that will change industry forever”. “We are very happy to see that on its first edition the IOTSWC has settled itself as an important milestone on the calendar of a rapidly growing sector and we are pleased to make our contribution to a key industry and also grow with it edition after edition“, added Bou.
To quickly connect technology and industry and also create the best possible platform for companies and experts to discuss together new strategies and IoT developments, the IOTSWC featured a comprehensive congress program with keynotes from 120 top experts as well as an exhibition area where the latest solutions were showcased including eleven testbeds of real industry use cases. Two hours before closing its doors, the IOTSWC had registered over 4.500 visitors from 53 countries.
The IOTSWC established a partnership with the Industrial internet Consortium (IIC), the sector’s leading association, and formed an Advisory Committee comprised of 12 representatives from the leading Industrial Internet companies that oversaw the contents and scientific approach of the event. Richard M. Soley, executive director of the IIC and president of the Committee said “the event’s figures have far surpassed our expectations and they clearly show the value of collaboration. Everything that has happened in these past three days in Barcelona proves that IoT technologies are rapidly being adopted“.
The second edition of the IOTSWC will be held at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue from the 25th to the 27th of October 2016.
