The Caravaning Show is growing in terms of content and space and is preparing for its largest edition

The International Caravaning Show is undertaking its 34th edition with more exhibition space and participating companies, demonstrating the good health of the sector. The event will occupy more than 36,000m² and will host 130 exhibiting companies showing more than 700 vehicles, as well as the latest developments in the sector, with the aim for fans of this type of tourism to enjoy the largest range of goods and services on offer in Spain at the moment.

In line with the main trends in the sector, the 34th edition of the International Caravaning Show, organised by Fira de Barcelona from 12th to 20th October in pavilions 3 and 4 of the Gran Via venue, reinforces its commitment to motor homes and campers (adapted vans with space for beds, a kitchen and washbasin), expanding its exhibition space, together with the range of accessories that is also growing significantly.

Thus, the sector dedicated to motorhomes occupies more than 26,000m² and has 27 exhibiting companies, 4 more than at the previous edition. The main brands in the sector will take part in this edition, including Adria, Benimar, Bürstner, Carado, Caravelair, Comanche, Dethleffs, Elnagh, Fendt, Frankia, Hobby, Hymer, Knaus, Illusion, Laika, Mercedes, Pilote, Rapido, Rimor, SEA, Sterckeman, and Volkswagen.

The emergence of the camper van is once again reflected at the show, the second-fastest growing in terms of exhibition area, gaining 1,000m² compared to the 2018 edition, with a total of 4,100m². Equally significant is the increase in the space devoted to accessories, which will occupy nearly 2,500m², almost twice as much as last year.

All-terrain vehicles and luxury tents

Apart from finding out about the latest developments and trends, visitors to the International Caravaning Show will be able to enjoy five themed spaces with activities for all tastes: Barcelona Overland, Glamping, Caravaning Kids, Travelvanning and Gastrovanning.

For the second year, Barcelona Overland will offer a themed sample of 4×4 motorhomes and accessories. It will be a space in an exotic setting, with sand, palm trees, rivers and rocks, which will have around twenty off-road vehicles, including SUVs, trailers, vans, trucks and converted pick-ups suitable for all types of terrain and conditions.

Among them, the new E6 range of Iveco Daily 4×4 which stands out for its larger size, as well as the return of the van version. Luxer Camper Car will showcase a newly-arrived Mercedes Unimog truck from a long journey through South America, as well as several camperised all-wheel-drive vehicles.

The accessories section will have roof tents capable of withstanding winds of up to 120 km/h which are 100% waterproof, and modular furniture with space for a kitchen, sink, fridge and storage in a single block installable in any car in just 5 minutes.

For its part, the Glamping area will display a large yurt, the home of Mongolia’s nomadic societies. Surrounding it, there will be around fifteen campsites offering Glamping packages, combining the comforts of a five-star hotel with the feeling of freedom and adventure of camping outdoors.

Family and gastronomic proposals

The 34th edition of the International Caravaning Show will also offer a programme of activities for the whole family in the Caravaning Kids area. Over the two weekends, in hall 5, the youngest members of the family will be able to release their adrenaline in the climbing park with two vertical parts, a rope bridge and a zip line; test their balance, strength and dexterity in the agility circuit; or, check their orientation skills in the obstacle course. The most relaxed proposal will come from Lego, who will provide a space inside a school bus to play with its new range of products, combining the traditional building game with augmented reality.

The most adventurous spirits will enjoy a programme of talks and conferences in the Travelvanning area where several travelvanners will share their travel experiences, while Gastrovanning will offer a selection of the best food ideas aboard food trucks with a vintage look.

The International Caravaning Show works closely with ASEICAR, the Spanish Association of the Caravaning Industry and Trade, and GREMCAR (the Catalan Caravaning Businesspeople’s Guild).
