The show presents the food trends of the future
More innovation at the 40th anniversary edition of Alimentaria
To help both SMEs and large companies to expand overseas, the show is collaborating with sector associations and official bodies to organise some 10,000 business meetings between exhibitors and 800 special guest buyers from strategic markets such as Europe, Latin America, Asia, the Middle East and North America.
The show will feature the latest launches in the industry and the food trends of the future, with an emphasis on personalised, organic and locally grown products and the quest for new sources of protein. The workshops and cooking demos will showcase some of the big names in the restaurant sector such as Joan Roca and Ángel León, as well as up-and-coming young chefs.
Other standout sections include Vinorum Think, specialising in the wine sector; the gourmet olive oil tasting bar; the ‘Spain, Land of 100 Cheeses’ exhibition; and three activities that concentrate for the first time at the fair on Halal cuisine – a supermarket, a conference and cooking demos.
The trade show will be divided into a series of dedicated fairs: Intervin (wines and spirits), Intercarn (meat and its derivatives), Restaurama (restaurant and frozen food sector), Interlact (milk and dairy products) and Multiple Foods (healthy and gourmet foods, confectionery and snacks, oils, fruit and vegetables, and canned goods).
