Jordi Magre, new director of Graphispag
Jordi Magre Miró becomes the new director of Graphispag. The up to now Gneral Manager of Mactac Europe for Spain, Portugal and South America, a multinational company specialising in self-adhesive formats and solutions for graphic communication and label printing, joins Fira de Barcelona to promote the expansion of this leading fair of the Spanish graphics industry, whose next edition takes place from 26 to 29 March 2019.
Linked to the graphics industry and the digital printing world for more than 27 years, Jordi Magre is a very well-known figure in the sector due to his work in associated areas, especially for the Graphispack Association as President of the Aiidys Sectoral Grouping, which brings together suppliers of technology and materials and digital printing companies from all over the country. During this time, Magre has given particular encouragement to relations with entities in the graphics industry, actively participating in the organisation of award schemes, congresses and events in the sector as well as supporting academic institutions which train future graphics professionals.
Aged 52 and from Barcelona, Magre graduated in Business Sciences from the UOC (Open University of Catalonia) and studied Industrial Engineering at the UPC (Polytechnic University of Catalonia), as well as marketing, team management and coaching.
Since 2010, Magre has been Managing Director of the Iberian branch of Mactac Europe, a multinational company that he joined in 1990, and where he has taken on various roles in the commercial area in labelling, offset printing, screen printing and, in particular, digital printing departments. Magre has also worked in the commercial and internationalisation departments of industrial, chemical and packaging companies such as Henkel Ibérica, S.A., Coraplax, S.L. and Witte y Solà, S.A.
Magre knows Graphispag very well; he has been a member of the fair’s organising committee on several occasions and has taken part as an exhibitor since 1998. As the new director of the Barcelona graphics trade fair, he will seek to promote Graphispag’s expansion strategy within the context of a changing market, involving the printed product’s entire value chain as well as new groups using printing in their businesses.
“We are delighted to be able to count on the experience and knowledge of the graphics industry that Jordi Magre brings with him. He will undoubtedly be instrumental in displaying the creative and business potential of printing, an area opening up to new sectors, and tailor what is on offer at the fair to the meet demands”, stated Xavier Pascual, director of Fira de Barcelona’s Packaging, Printing and Retail Business Unit, of which the Graphispag fair forms part.
At the last edition, held in 2017, Graphispag brought together more than 350 brands of machinery and graphics technology, finishes, software and printing materials and media, and registered a total of 22,050 visits by professionals.
