30,000 professionals from 150 countries come together
Fira hosts the European Society of Cardiology Congress
The Gran Via venue hosts the latest annual congress of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC Congress), one of the world’s most important medical and scientific meetings. This year, from 30 August to 3 September, 30,000 professionals from 150 countries come together.
At the event, over 500 scientific sessions and 11,000 oral presentation or posters will be given in order to publicise the latest clinical trials and discoveries in the field of cardiology. The latest projects and advances in surgery, imaging techniques and technological resources from more than 200 exhibiting companies will also be on hand.
Experts will take advantage of the congress, for which the slogan this year is ‘Innovation and the Heart’, to remind everyone of the need to give new impetus to research into new treatments in order to stop this new epidemic of cardiovascular diseases, which each year cause the death of four million people in Europe alone.
Fira de Barcelona also hosted the European congresses held in 1992, 1999 and 2009 and the World Congress in 2006. The holding of the new edition of this important event is part of the institution’s strategic dedication to capturing large-scale medical and technology congresses.
