BCNJoya includes a new feature at its fourth edition
Expohogar will present the latest developments in gifts, gems, costume jewellery and decorative items at its autumn fair
Expohogar will hold its autumn 2018 edition at Fira de Barcelona from 22 to 25 September, with new products in gift items, costume jewellery, fashion accessories and home decoration for the upcoming winter season. Following the success of recent years, the show will once again host BCNJoya, the Jewellery and Watchmaking sector which has witnessed a considerable increase in the number of exhibitors over last year. Alongside the exhibitions there will be a programme of training activities related to visual merchandising and new sales techniques, with ideas for digital marketing, e-commerce, window dressing and design.
Expohogar Autumn, organized by Fira de Barcelona, will once again become a solid commercial platform which, from 22 to 25 September, will gather together around 250 leading companies in their specialities in Pavilion 2 of the Montjuïc venue, enabling them to exhibit products related above all to the Christmas season, a period which accounts for the highest volume of sales during the year.
Brands including Item Internacional, Foimpex, Signes Grimalt, Imori, Taller de las Indias and Bolas de Olor and the CIRE (Centre of Initiatives for Reinsertion) will exhibit their products at Expohogar, which has become established as the leading gathering in Southern Europe for the following sectors: Gifts, Interior design and decoration, Jewellery and Watchmaking (BCNJoya), Costume jewellery and fashion accessories, Crafts, Stationery, Textiles and the home, Leather and travel goods, Table and kitchenware, Floral decoration, terrace and garden, Lighting, Personal care and Childcare and Souvenirs.
A new space devoted to design schools
Ratifying its commitment to innovation and creativity, Expohogar Autumn will launch a new space in which 5 design schools will present their students’ best proposals. On this occasion, the schools will be the Arsenal Municipal Art School from Vilafranca del Penedès, the EADT (School of Art and Design of Tarragona), the La Industrial Art School from Barcelona, the JORGC (School of the Official Association of Jewellers, Goldsmiths, Watchmakers and Gemologists of Catalonia) and the Susana Alonso Workshop from Foixà.
Thus, “the show will offer younger designers the chance to showcase their creations in a business environment in the presence of a large number of professional buyers in search of new ideas. Expohogar thereby confirms its role as a promoter of new talents, supporting them in their introduction into the market“, states Alcaraz.
More firms at BCNJoya
BCNJoya will be held for the fourth time at Expohogar, with the creations of 120 brands of commercial, high-end and designer jewellery, silverware, watchmaking and associated machinery and products, which once again represents a significant increase over the last fair. BCNJoya has sustained its growth for the fourth consecutive year since its first edition, held at Expohogar Autumn 2015, with just over 30 exhibitors.
Renowned firms such as Bernat Rubí, Antonelli, Joyas Perelli, Liska Joyas, Marea and Lineargent will take part in the fair, which will also be attended by three online sales portals. These are Waxco Online, Skull Rider and Emeller Brand, which made sure they didn’t miss out on the opportunity to present their products within the framework of a professional fair.
For the first time, BCNJoya will devote an area exclusively to the most cutting-edge jewellery, the result of the designer’s creativity and the craftsmanship of the pieces. The main aim of this new area, under the name “BCNJoya Concept”, is to show the latest in designer jewellery. Gemma López, Joan Datzira, Santi Capó and Elisenda de Haro are just some of the 30 designers who will bring their unique creations.
Training activities for the retail channel
Expohogar Autumn will host Special Expert Event (SEE), the space that brings together some 15 activities in workshops and talks by recognised experts on topics such as commercial interior design, online and offline sales strategies, and demonstrations of gift wrapping and floral art.
Among the speakers at SEE, some of the most noteworthy are the marketing expert and CEO of Creativialab, Raúl Ciprés, the social media manager at Elogia, Lídia Lombardía, and experts in floral art from the Escola Floral de Catalunya and the Escola Rosa Valls.
With the knowledge imparted at these conferences, Expohogar aims to inspire visitors to the show, mostly distributors, decorators, wholesalers and especially retail channel professionals, in their search for innovative solutions that they can readily adopt and which help to boost sales and improve their business results.
For the second consecutive year, the show will cooperate with the Official Association of Commercial Agents of Catalonia in the organization of B2B meetings between professionals from all over Spain and companies requiring this profile. Last year, 13 firms held a total of 65 meetings with commercial agents from all over the country.
Current predictions are that thanks to the broad cross-section of the market represented and its learning opportunities, the show will be visited by some 11,000 professionals from Catalonia, Aragon, Andorra, Valencia, the Balearic Islands, the Basque Country and southern France. Expohogar, an industry event organised by Fira de Barcelona every two years, will open from 10 a.m. to 7.30 p.m., except on the last day, when it will close at 5 p.m.
