Another edition has drawn to a close in which seven events that drive the digital transformation came together
Barcelona Industry Week confirms industrial digitalisation as an unstoppable reality
The digital transformation of the industry is today an unavoidable reality that is in full swing. This has been confirmed by Barcelona Industry Week, organised by Fira Barcelona, which this afternoon draws a new edition to a close in which multiple solutions have been exhibited that are already applied in production processes at a key time through the emergence different disruptive technologies. The seven events that made up the Barcelona Industry Week were: IOT Solutions World Congress, Blockchain Solutions World, AI & Cognitive Systems Forum, Industry From Needs to Solutions, Max, Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress and Ayri11 brought together 550 companies, 600 speakers and some 25,000 visitors at the Gran Via venue.
The Business Director of Fira Barcelona, Salvador Tasqué, highlighted the success of this trade fair platform: “For three days Barcelona has once again become a showcase for the main technologies and solutions that are driving the digital transformation of the industry”. In this sense, he adds that “it has shown numerous success stories in IoT, 3D printing, Artificial Intelligence, advanced manufacturing and blockchain, confirming that digitalisation is not the future, it is the present. A reality where millions of connected machines and devices are already changing the production processes of different economic industries and creating new business models”.
IoT Solutions World Congress (IOTSWC), the largest international event dedicated to the industrial Internet of Things, brought together 350 exhibitors, with the world’s leading suppliers of IoT solutions, Artificial Intelligence and blockchain and numerous start-ups, as well as an area with 10 test benches with real and disruptive applications. The congress was attended by 300 guest speakers who spoke of the new value of the IOT not only from a connectivity perspective but also due to the ability to combine and interpret data from different sources.
Together with IOTSWC, two monographic events on blockchain and Artificial Intelligence took place: Blockchain Solutions World (BSW) and AI & Cognitive Systems Forum (AI & CS) which have dealt with issues such as the use of blockchain and automatic learning technologies in the improvement of industrial processes, in the field of health, in connected transport and in the fight against climate change.
For its part, Industry From Needs to Solutions grouped 150 companies, with special emphasis on the machine tool area, which presented the key developments in industrial machinery, in addition to automation and robotics companies, moulds and dies, 3D printing, new materials, connectivity and data, and design and services.
Also within the framework of Industry, four events were held that placed emphasis on knowledge: Max, Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress, In(3d)talks, and Ayri11 brought together 150 experts and professionals to discuss advanced manufacturing, the great challenges of industrial safety on the web, additive manufacturing, and robotics.
