Outdoor areas with swimming pools, a rising trend
The space dedicated to outdoor design gains prominence at Piscina & Wellness Barcelona
In response to the growing demand for sustainable swimming pools that are integrated into their surroundings, Piscina & Wellness Barcelona is expanding the ‘Outdoor Living Experience’ space to include all the proposals from leading companies specializing in interior design, architecture and landscaping. The expansion of this area aims to respond to the growing need for outdoor areas that promote the swimming pool as a center for health, leisure, sport, wellness and socializing.
Piscina & Wellness Barcelona, organized by Fira de Barcelona with the support of the Spanish swimming pool sector employers’ association ASOFAP, is expanding its ‘Outdoor Living Experience’ space to offer visitors an even broader and more varied experience. With the participation of 30 exhibitors, 150% more than the last edition, attendees will have the opportunity to explore a complete range of products and services related to swimming pools and outdoor wellness.
Some of the sector’s leading companies, such as BWT Pool, Fairland, Fluidra, Hayward, Hisom, K7, Lifestylegarden, Ignasi Conillas Arquitectura de Exteriores, Lightpro, Phnx, Piscinas Laghetto y Visendum, will be present to showcase their new products and trends. In addition, the recreation of a 500 m2 garden, designed by the landscape architecture studio AELAND, will feature the latest in outdoor design and provide an ideal environment for relaxation and networking.
The decision to enhance the ‘Outdoor Living Experience’ space is not only based on increased demand, but also on the desire to highlight the potential of this strategic segment. According to Piscina&Wellness Barcelona director, Angel Celorrio, “the presence of a swimming pool in an outdoor environment can increase the value of a property by 30%. This underlines the growing importance given to outdoor spaces and their impact on the value of a property. It is a very relevant approach for today’s market”.
The increase registered in this space, created with the support of the Spanish Association of Landscapers, AEP, reflects the general trend of the show which, between 27 and 30 November, will present the range of pool and wellness equipment and accessories from more than 300 exhibitors at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue, 69% more than the event held in 2021. This year, the show has also reached a record level of international participation, with 68% of foreign companies from up to 25 countries.
According to Celorrio, “the increase in the show’s offer is a significant fact that ratifies the Barcelona event as a leader in Spain and an outstanding international benchmark, where it is possible to see first-hand the latest innovations from the world’s leading companies in the industry”.
Innovation and sustainability, the cornerstones of development
The event will also host other experiential areas such as the ‘Innovation Zone’, with the most innovative solutions for a sustainable and connected swimming pool, and the ‘Wellness Experience’, a fully operational wellness center that will showcase the latest equipment for this type of establishment.
The show will also be the setting for the Piscina & Wellness Barcelona Awards ceremony for the most sustainable and innovative products at the fair, the Wellness Experience Awards for the best Iberian and European spas, spas and wellness centers, and the awards of the International Architecture Competition for Students. These competitions reflect the event’s ongoing commitment to promoting and recognizing excellence in sustainability, innovation and connectivity, the primary pillars of this industry.
