Fira Event Designs a New Strategy for Future Editions
The Boat Show brings the sector together in the framework of the 2024 Barcelona America’s Cup
The Barcelona Boat Show joined the celebration of the 37th edition of the America’s Cup on Sunday by participating in the Barcelona Nautical Summit. This event, held at the VIP Hospitality of the Port of Barcelona, brought together a group of prominent companies, institutions, and personalities related to the nautical world.
The General Director of Fira de Barcelona, Constantí Serrallonga, and the President of the Boat Show, Luís Conde, participated in this event, which was attended by nearly a hundred entrepreneurs and personalities, including the President of the Port of Barcelona, Lluís Salvadó; the General Director of Marina Port Vell and President of the Barcelona Nautical Cluster, Ignacio Erroz; the Director of the Barcelona Nautical Cluster, Clàudia Parera Blanch; and the General Director of the National Association of Nautical Companies (ANEN), Jordi Carrasco.
The meeting brought together representatives from key companies in the sector such as Furuno, Garmin, Girbau Boats, Hermanos Guasch, Karnic Boats, Metropol Náuticas, Motyvel Yachts Barcelona, Oyster Yachts, Solé Diesel, Touron, and Yamaha, among others.
Thus, the Barcelona Nautical Summit, organized by the Barcelona Nautical Cluster with the support of Fira and the Port of Barcelona, became the meeting point for the sector where impressions and experiences about the state of the industry and the positive impact of the competition on the city and the nautical sector could be exchanged.
Future Boat Show
Spain’s largest nautical event and an international benchmark in the sector thus joined the celebrations of the world’s most important sailing event, which occupies the entire Port Vell.
The President of the Boat Show, Luis Conde, emphasized the importance of “highlighting the celebration of the America’s Cup in Barcelona for what it means for the sector and the promotion of nautical activities, as well as for the entire city.” Conde added that for the Fira event, which was not held this year due to the competition, “it has been an opportunity to draw up an ambitious strategy that will enhance and renew the Boat Show of the future.”
In this regard, the organization plans to present the new lines of the show in the coming months, which will hold its next edition in October 2025 at Port Vell in Barcelona.
