Fira de Barcelona to host UBEAT Live, the new entertainment festival for Generation Z
Starting this summer, Barcelona will host a major entertainment festival for Generation Z, UBEAT Live, organised by the MEDIAPRO Group. The new event will be held between 1 and 3 July at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue and will feature eSports competitions, events by content creators, the best freestyle, music, urban art and many other activities, in a unique event in Europe with an ambition of international expansion.
The aim of UBEAT Live is to respond to the demand of the new consumers of the Z generation, who until now have not had a large, regular in-person event that brings together the best official competitions, professionals and content of their major leisure activities. At the Gran Via venue, visitors will be able to enjoy professional eSports competitions including the VALORANT Regional League Spain final, with a single ticket: Rising MediaMarkt Intel and League of Legends Super League matchday.
In addition, the event will feature two stops of the USN World Summer Cup of freestyle, the international improvised hip hop competition that will be held for the second consecutive year in Spain. On Friday 1 and Saturday 2 July, the Gran Via venue will host the best MC’s – the name given to specialists in this field – from Spain and Latin America, who will compete for the title.
Content creators, music and more
The UBEAT Live offering will be completed by the presence of some of the most popular content creators, who will hold meetings with their followers. Among them will be Ibai Llanos, the popular streamer from Bilbao, who will participate in the Spanish qualifying round for the Balloon World Cup, the Balloon World Cup, created by Llanos and the F.C. Barcelona player, Gerard Piqué, inspired by a game in which the competitors must get the balloon to touch the ground without their opponents being able to stop it.
The UBEAT Live programme will be completed with the Spanish Hado championship, the world’s first augmented reality team sport in which players must avoid virtual energy balls thrown by the opposing team for 80 seconds; concerts; live urban art sessions by artists such as Ricardo Cavolo; fanzone spaces with the eSports teams and other activities to be announced in the coming weeks.
UBEAT Live is supported by Barcelona City Council and Fira de Barcelona
