Richard Soley, of the Industry IOT Consortium receives with the first-ever Game Changer award
Emnify, Hitachi Energy, Saudi Aramco and Tata Consultancy win the 2022 Industry Solutions Awards
The 2022 Industry Solutions Awards went to Emnify, Hitachi Energy, Saudi Aramco and Tata Consultancy for its outstanding developments in the fields of Business Optimizations, Connectivity, Customer Solution and Security. The first-ever Game Changer award went to Richard Soley, Executive Director of the Industry IOT Consortium and Chairman and CEO of the Object Management Group, for his contribution to the development of industrial IoT. The winners have been announced during a gala held at IOT Solutions World Congress (IOTSWC), the largest international event devoted to industry transformation through disruptive technologies.
The best Business Optimization award went to Saudi Aramco for its Smart CO2 downhole monitoring for sustainable reservoir operation solution. The company developed a smart AI driven sensor optimization framework for CO2 downhole monitoring that integrates multiple IR composition data in real-time through wireless technology and determines CO2 concentrations in the wellbore. These concentrations are then utilized to optimize the control valves to minimize CO2 output while maintaining production. This enables to optimize CO2 injection and storage forecasting.
German company EMnify, has been awarded with the best Connectivity Solution award for its use of an IoT Supernetwork to connect global fleets of environmental monitoring devices. EMnify’s solution is built on partnerships with the leading cloud service providers, system integrators and hundreds of radio network operators worldwide and helps companies remove geographical limitations to seamlessly connect and scale IoT devices across international markets and collect data in over 85 cities globally.
The award for best Customer Solution has gone to Tata Consultancy Services for its TCS Smart Store. TCS Smart Store is an AI-based image and video analytics solution that leverages sensor fusion-based infrastructure and contextual algorithms to provide real-time alerts and analytics. The solution enables smart and self-aware store operations and elevates in-store customer experience. Use cases include retail shrinkage, AI-driven stock replenishment, and AI-based sales improvement.
Hitachi Energy was awarded for the best Security Solution for the world’s first fully integrated real time monitoring security service for the energy sector. The new innovative service integrates three security domains (physical, OT, and cyber) and enables real-time response for critical infrastructures. Utilities are faced with constantly changing threat patterns and attackers behavior and this solution continuously helps adapting to and overcome challenges such as increased vulnerabilities, IT-OT convergence, operational complexity and changing regulations.
Game changer
The last award, Game changer, aims to honour an industry pioneer who has been a role model and a key for the promotion and implementation of technology solutions in vertical industries. On its first edition the award has gone to computer scientist Richard Soley. Chairman and CEO of the Object Management Group (OMG), and Executive Director of the Industrial IOT Consortium, Soley studied Computer Science and Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and began his carrer at Honeywell. He joined OMG as Technical Director in 1989, leading the development of OMG’s standardization process and the original CORBA specification.
In its sixth edition, IOTSWC is gathering 310 exhibitors and 200 speakers to showcase and debate the latest technological solutions that provide an edge to companies across many industries.
