The new show will feature the latest videogames and host competitions
Barcelona Games World, a 100% gaming experience
Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, Pokémon, FIFA 16 and 17, PES 2016, Uncharted 4, Splatoon and Super Smash Bros. Followers of e-sports have an unmissable event in the shape of Barcelona Games World (BGW) on 6-9 October, the new trade fair organised by Fira de Barcelona and the Spanish Video Games Association (AEVI) which will showcase the new season’s games as well as hosting all kinds of championships from the leading brands, YouTubers battles, Cosplay shows and a lot of great music.
Visitors to the event will be able to make use of more than 1,000 terminals to find out about and try the new videogames from brands such as Activision, Badland Games, Bandai Namco Entertainment, Electronic Arts, GAME, Koch Media, Microsoft Xbox, Nintendo, Sony Interactive Entertainment España, 2K, Wargaming and Warner. They can also take part in top competitions such as the PlayStation League, GAME E-sports and the Professional Videogame League (LVP), with teams of both amateurs and professionals vying for prizes of up to €15,000.
The Retrobarcelona zone will be showcasing more than 50 classic arcade games as well as Super Mario Kart, Super Street Fighter II Turbo and Windjammers tournaments. Other activities include YouTubers battles, Cosplay shows and music from the 40 Principales DJs. BGW will also be welcoming three big names from the videogame world: Katsuhiro Harada (Tekken saga), Hajime Tabata (Final Fantasy XV) and Charles Martinet (the voice of Super Mario).
For trade professionals, the show aims to serve as a platform to boost the Spanish videogame industry, and to this end will be organising more than 20 conferences and business meetings with publishers, developers and investors.
