This year’s edition marks a new phase focused on new audiences
A revamped Barcelona International Boat Show aims to expand space, product range and quality
The 2025 edition of the Barcelona International Boat Show will mark the beginning of a new journey that aims to significantly grow the event in the Port Vell of the Catalan capital, with the presence of a more exclusive showcase and leading brands. Additionally, new activities and proposals will be organized targeting professionals and major national and international buyers.
The event’s new direction, organized by Fira de Barcelona in collaboration with the National Association of Nautical Companies (ANEN), has been designed together with the leading companies in the industry represented in the Organizing Committee, with the goal of improving the experience for exhibitors and visitors.
The show, which will take place from October 8th to 12th, has developed a new strategic plan to boost its quality by featuring larger boats, the participation of the top companies in the market, and a greater number of international shipyards in order to attract a more qualified audience with greater decision-making and purchasing power.
In this regard, efforts are being made to ensure that the Barcelona pier, where boats over 20 meters in length are expected to dock, will be added to the exhibition space at the Port Vell venue, alongside the Fusta, España, and part of the Marina Port Vell docks. To ensure and easy visit of the entire event, a shuttle boat will connect the Barcelona and España docks in the Barcelona port.
The President of the event, Luis Conde, stated, “With this new format, the goal is to take a leap forward among the major European boat shows in terms of the quality of its offering and the presence of large international brands, thereby helping to strengthen Barcelona’s position as the Spanish and European capital of sports and leisure boating.”
The event director, Josep Antoni Llopart, said, “The 2025 edition marks the beginning of a new phase where we have focused on improving the quality of the offshowcase to attract a more professional and international audience, with the goal of stimulating sales at the show.”
The CEO of ANEN, Jordi Carrasco, highlights: “the Association values positively the course of the Barcelona International Boat Show to innovate and adapt to new market trends, and we are confident that this update will improve the experience for both exhibiting companies and visitors.”
Buyers Program and New Village
Additionally, in order to attract high-level visitors, the Barcelona International Boat Show will feature a hosted buyers program, inviting major international buyers, and will have a network of ambassadors, including major companies in the sector or yacht clubs, among others, to act as promoters of the show both nationally and internationally.
Another major attraction of this year’s edition will be a 2,500 m² village, which will be set up in the Portal de la Pau area of the Port Vell in Barcelona, offering high-quality gastronomy, among other activities.
Furthermore, the Barcelona International Boat Show will continue to focus on sustainability, the blue economy, and innovation as key themes that will be addressed through a program of conferences and talks at the event’s Agora, coordinated by Port de Barcelona. On the other hand, the event will open on the first day exclusively for major buyers, industry professionals, and the media.
