The event registered more than 30,000 visitors
Positive balance of the Festival Infancia extended to the 0 to 4 age range
After five days, the Festival Infancia is coming to a close this afternoon with a new success among children and families, with more than 30,000 visitors. The excellent turnout confirms the event as one of the Barcelona’s most renowned Christmas leisure plans aimed at children up to the age of 12. Likewise, the extension of the leisure offer with the “Mini” space to cover the age group under 4 years old has been very well received.
This year the Festival Infancia offered more than 60 activities focused on learning, entertainment and fun. The most popular were those related to sport and physical activity, such as the adventure circuit, the skating rink, the jungle maze, the inflatables and the bicycle ride to learn about road safety.
Also, the cooking workshop led by chef Carla Peyron and the activities of Mercats de Barcelona, the construction game of the towers of the Sagrada Familia and the proposals related to technology such as video games and the virtual reality experiences of the Mobile World Capital were other major attractions of this edition, which also featured crafts and different games that disseminated civic values and encouraged creativity and healthy habits. The Festival Infancia was also committed to culture, expanding the programme of shows with magic, theatre, puppets, dance, storytelling and musical performances.
On the other hand, one of this year’s novelties, the “Mini” space for babies and children up to 4 years old, has been highly appreciated by families. The director of the event, Anna Ventura, explains “with this initiative to adapt and increase the number of activities for this age group we have managed to attract a greater number of families with younger children who have been able to get to know the Festival”.
On the other hand, the Festival Infancia has distributed, as it does every year, through the Barcelona City Council, more than 2,000 charity invitations to various non-profit organisations in Barcelona that work with children from families at risk of social exclusion.
The Festival Infancial, the most traditional children’s leisure event in Catalonia, will once again be held at Fira de Barcelona’s Montjuïc exhibition centre from 27 to 31 December 2024. The event is organised by Fira de Barcelona in collaboration with Barcelona City Council and produced by Evident Events.
