Eurocar Meeting Surfaces & Plastics addresses advanced surface treatments and materials for sustainable mobility
What are the applications of the new generation of sustainable composites? What possibilities do functional coatings for active surfaces open up? What developments, paints and advanced materials does new mobility require? These questions will be answered at the eleventh edition of Eurocar Meeting Surfaces & Plastics, the conference aimed at companies and professionals from the automotive, aeronautics and railway industries, as well as suppliers of paints, plastics, surface treatments, installations and equipment, which will take place on 31 May at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue as part of Eurosurfas and Equiplast.
With the participation of some twenty experts from the sector as speakers, Eurocar Meeting Surfaces & Plastics will once again focus on innovation, connectivity and the reduction of environmental impact in the mobility and e-mobility sectors and their ancillary industries, devoting special attention to sharing experiences and innovative solutions in materials, finishes and surface treatments, as well as analysing success stories. This meeting will structure its agenda around four sessions: Advanced materials for the mobility industry; Actions for the reduction of emissions and a new system for the evaluation of corrosion; Raw materials and recycling of products in the automotive environment and New developments in materials for E-Mobility.
Representatives of the companies Magma Design, DIAB, 3M Iberia, Stellantis, Dürr, BASF, PPG Industries, Henkel and Composites ATE, as well as the entities IQS, CIDETEC Surface Engineering, Rail Grup, Clúster de la Industria de la Automoción de Cataluña (CIAC) and Sociedad Técnicos de Automoción (STA) will participate in the presentations. Two success stories will also be presented, focusing on improvements linked to sustainability in the automotive environment, both related to the energy efficiency of processes and the recycling of raw materials and products, by TAG Automotive, SEAT and RMS Iberia.
The technical director and coordinator of the 11th Eurocar Meeting Surfaces & Plastics, Josep Vilar, emphasises that “this year’s presentations will focus on the sector’s achievements in sustainability, both in materials and in design, manufacturing and finishing processes for plastic and metallic surfaces”.
