Alimentaria Foodtech 2026 promotes innovation and networking

Alimentaria FoodTech will hold a new edition from 6 to 8 October 2026 at the Gran Via venue of Fira de Barcelona. The innovation, technology and ingredients fair for the agri-food industry reaches its 17th edition as a showcase for the latest developments in the sector, offering business opportunities and opening doors to solutions and equipment for all productive segments of the industry.

Alimentaria FoodTech previews the highlights of its new edition, which will be held from 6 to 8 October 2026 at the Gran Via venue of Fira de Barcelona. With 32,000 square metres of exhibition space, it will feature the main innovations in the sector and will focus on networking and the creation of business opportunities.

The fair stands as a great showcase for the sector, with more than 370 exhibitors in the last edition and nearly 15,800 visitors from 30 countries. Figures that are expected to be exceeded during the celebration of the event in 2026. Organised by Alimentaria Exhibitions, a Fira de Barcelona company, it is a professional show where you can discover innovations and connect with manufacturers, SMEs, professionals in the sector and the entire food industry chain.

In this way, from the primary sector to the product that comes out of the factory, Alimentaria FoodTech is the meeting point for stakeholders in the Food and Beverage Industry (IAB) ecosystem. The leading companies, accompanied by the national business fabric of SMEs and international exhibitors, will show a transversal offer that provides service to the entire industry, specifically in the areas of processing, ingredients, packaging and labelling, automation, robotics, digitalisation, food safety and refrigeration, among others.

Debate and latest advances
The FoodTech Innovarena space will once again reflect this innovation present at the show with presentations and round tables by experts in the sector, who will contribute their disruptive vision to transform debate and technical knowledge into business. In addition, FoodTech Ingrenova will exclusively show the latest advances in ingredients and additives that will set the course for the transformation and processing of food and beverages. The FoodTech Awards will also be presented, which reward the most innovative products and services in the sector.

Likewise, Alimentaria FoodTech will be a meeting point for the purchasing and selling managers of the leading companies in the sector, where matchmaking and B2B meetings are promoted. To multiply business opportunities, the show will invite a select group of international buyers from more than 20 countries on 5 continents, with high investment potential. In the last edition, its Hosted Buyers program had 80 high-level international buyers who generated nearly 800 business meetings.

The renewed leadership of the fair, at the service of the industry
The next edition of Alimentaria FoodTech will be led by Albert Puxan, CEO of Mimasa Washing Technologies, as the new president of the show’s Organising Committee, together with Ramón Dordal, general manager of Dordal, as vice-president and Oriol Viladevall, member of the Board of Directors of IMPAG Iberia, as vice-president of the ingredients sector. This governance body is also made up of the most relevant institutions for the food industry such as IRTA, FIAB, amec, AECOC, FECIC and INNOVACC, accompanied by a dozen leading companies both nationally and internationally.
